Lucrecia Marie Torello Ditta, 96 of Hamden, CT died peacefully at Elim Park, Cheshire on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Ditta. Lucrecia was born in New Haven, CT on October 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Harold and Rose Papale Torello and had resided in Hamden since 1956. For many years, she and her husband spent winters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and summers in Cape Cod, MA. Lucrecia’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Elim Park, including the Connecticut Hospice staff at Elim Park for the loving and dedicated care bestowed upon Lucrecia during her time there. Lucrecia is survived by her daughter Debi Ditta Caron and her husband Gerald Caron of Hamden, two sons, Thomas Ditta and his wife Vanessa Ditta of Melbourne, FL and Kenneth Ditta of Hamden, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Dominic, Thomas and Harold Torello. Lucrecia’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 22 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Monday at 11:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Paul VI Parish), 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
