Leocadio "Leo" Tirado, 58, of Hamden, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus on Sunday, May 12, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Leo was born in Camden, NJ on April 28, 1966, a son of the late Leocadio de Jesús and the late Paulina Tirado, and had resided in New Haven for most of his life before moving to Hamden nine years ago. He worked for the maintenance department at Davenport Dunbar Elderly Housing for seven years, retiring in 2021 due to illness, and had been attending Verticle Church in West Haven.
Leo is survived by four daughters, Paulina Alvarado, Christine (Johntel Alston) Tirado-Alston, Stephanie Tirado and Crystal Tirado, and a son, Leocadio (Yalinette Ortega) Tirado, Jr., all of New Haven, five sisters, Maria (Joe Santos) Rivera-Santos, Iris and Evelyn Rivera, and Lina and Gloria Tirado, four brothers, Rafael, Inocenzio (Luz), Marcelino (Lucy) and Angel Rivera, his fiancé Blanca Colón of Hamden, eleven grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Margarita Tirado and brother Johnny Rivera.
Leo's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
