Judith B. Varrecchia Mongillo, 83 of New Haven passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Judy was born in Hartford on March 3, 1938, She resided in New Haven for the majority of her life where she raised her family, whom she adored. Judy is survived by two sons, Paul (Monica Barstein) Varrecchia and John Varrecchia, grandchildren, Nicole Brangi, John (Diane) Brangi, Jr., Michael (Charlene) Brangi, Danielle (Ronny Gerell) Kosko, Brittany Pesapane, Kristin Pesapane, Gabriella Varrecchia, and Alison Barstein, great-grandchildren Olivia Lee, Anthony, Amari, Jaiden, Alexandra, Julia, Michael Jr., Jayson and Ronny, Jr. Judy was predeceased by her mother and father, daughters Laura Lee Brokelschen-Brangi, Donna Marie Pesapane, and grandson Joseph Pesapane. She loved to cook and bake, play cards, trips to Mohegan Sun, feeding the birds and squirrels, and had a general love for animals. Most of all, Judy loved her family, and spending time with them. Her personality was a one of a kind, and all who knew her loved her dearly. Judy had a way of making you feel at home, and would always make you laugh. She will be sorely missed by her loving family and friends, but her light in this world will never be dimmed. Judy's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 5th from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish (St. Barnabas Church), 44 Washington Ave., North Haven.
