Juanita Ortíz

Juanita Ortíz, 72 of New Haven, CT died suddenly on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Luís Rafael Ortíz. Juanita was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on May 23, 1951, a daughter of the late Saturnina Rodríguez, and had resided in New Haven for the past fifty three years. She worked in housekeeping for SBM Management Co., New Haven for the past twenty years. In addition to her husband Luís, Juanita is survived by two daughters, Lisandra Ortíz and Melinda Ortíz of New Haven, eleven grandchildren, Mike, Emanuel, Nicholas and Lisandra López, Jaslyn and Joshua Cruz, Jovani and Louis Charles Ortíz, Rafael Serrano and Justin and Jaysen Threet, ten great-grandchildren, Jennalysz, Jaydien, Kam'ron, Jyliana, Aniyah, Miracle, Aria, Destiny, Ala and Azriel, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her son Louis Anthony Ortíz. Juanita's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
