Juan Ramón Jiménez, 61, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of twenty six years to Marangeli Santiago. Juan was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on October 24, 1962, a son of Amalia de Jesús Cruz of Utuado, Puerto Rico and the late Amado Jiménez Maldonado, and had resided in Arecibo for most of his life before moving to New Haven sixteen years ago. Prior to his illness, Juan was a self employed plumber by trade. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janicemar Jiménez and Jadylex Rose Jiménez of New Haven, three sons, John (Jasmine Rojas) of Palm Bay, FL, and Alexis Rivera and Dylan Jiménez of New Haven, four sisters, Yolanda (Alberto Vázquez) Jiménez, Annabell (Orlando Cruz) Jiménez and Abigail (Miguel Figueroa) Jiménez of New Haven and Marangelis (Jorge Mercado) Jiménez of Ft. Pierce, FL, three brothers, Amado Jiménez Borrero of Pennsylvania, Amado (Itza Silva) Jiménez, Jr. of Ocala, FL and Ricardo Jiménez of Poncé, Puerto Rico, four grandchildren, John Yadiel Jiménez, and Janiel, Janelis and Elienay Jiménez. He is also survived by many loving niece, nephews, cousins and friends.
Juan's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home during visitation time. A prayer service will take place Friday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
