Juan Domingo Fuentes

Juan Domingo Fuentes, 71, of New Haven died peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of fifty five years to Guillermina Suarez Fuentes. Juan was born in Santiago, Chile on April 1, 1951, a son of the late Juan Segundo Fuentes and the late Ana Rosa Retamar. He came to the United States in 1990, and had resided in New Haven for the past thirty three years. Juan was a laboratory assistant at Yale University for ten years, retiring in 2021. He had previously worked at Marlin Firearms of North Haven for seventeen years. In addition to his wife Guillermina, Juan is survived by three daughters, Ana Maria Fuentes, Fabiola (Joaquín Conde) Fuentes and Marcela (Julio Xicohtencatl) of New Haven, two sons, Marco (Sara) Fuentes of Dallas, TX and Juan D. Fuentes of New Haven and nine grandchildren, Marco, Macarena and Christian Fuentes, Natalia (Zach Hammel), Maura and Estefania Pérez, Catherine and Nicholas Conde and Alejandro Xicohtencatl. A graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven at a date and time to be determined.
