Joshua Fonseca Rivera, 20 of Meriden, formerly of New Haven died suddenly in Ponce, Puerto Rico while on vacation there. Josh was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on October 23, 1999, a son of Jeiditza Rivera Martínez of Meriden and the late Alfonso Fonseca Ramos. He had lived in New Haven for most of his life, and Meriden for the past two years. Joshua was a 2017 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and was working in the shipping and receiving department at Amazon, North Haven at the time of his death. In addition to his mother, Josh is survived by a sister, Jeimarie Fonseca Rivera, and a brother, Christian Fonseca Rivera of Meriden, his maternal grandparents Candído Rivera Elias and Gloria Martínez Cruz of Bayamón, his paternal grandparents, Gamalier Fonseca of Florida, and Luz Ramos of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joshua's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 3rd from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., the Reverend Abraham Hernández officiating.
