Joshua Emil Rivera

Joshua “Josh” Emil Rivera, 24, of Seymour, CT, formerly of Hamden, CT passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. Josh was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on November 22, 1998, a son of Emiliano “Jay” Rivera, Jr. of Hamden and Gisela Veguilla Cardona of Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. He had resided in Aguas Buenas as a child, and Hamden for twelve years before moving to Seymour a year ago. Josh worked for his father’s company, E.R. Home Improvements, LLC of Hamden, and was a 2017 graduate of Hamden High School. He was devoted to his family, and especially loved spending time with his daughter Ainhoa, and his niece and nephews. He also enjoyed photography and motor sports. In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by his daughter Ainhoa Rivera of New Haven, four sisters, Thalia (Luís Martínez) Rivera and Elliany Rivera of Hamden, Iris Yarimar Rivera of Vega Baja, PR and Emilly Rivera of Aguas Buenas, his paternal grandparents, Emiliano and Carmen Rivera, Sr. of New Haven, his maternal grandparents, Herminio Veguilla Montañez and Evangelista Díaz Cardona of Aguas Buenas, one niece, Nicole Maldonado Rivera of Vega Baja, three nephews, Adrían Maldonado of Vega Baja and Luís Martínez Rivera and Angel Martínez Rivera of Hamden, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Josh’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 22nd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
