José Antonio Rosario, Jr., 40 of Derby died suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 1, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Claudia Ayala. José was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on June 6, 1979, a loving son of Olga Rivera of New Haven and José Antonio Rosario, Sr. of Cayey, Puerto Rico. José moved to New Haven from Caguas in 1984, and had resided in Derby for the past eight years. He had previously resided in New Haven, Waterbury, New Britain and Ansonia. He was formerly employed at Pennsylvania Steel of Naugatuck. In addition to his wife and parents, José is survived by two daughters, Joselyn A. Rosario and Ariana M. Rosario of Naugatuck, five sons, Joshua Anthony Rosario of Massachusetts, Angel José Maldonado of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Joseph A. Rosario, George Suazó and Brian Suazó of Derby, four sisters, Olga Rosario of New Haven, Iris Vanessa Rosario and Marielis Rosario of Cayey, PR and Melannie J. Rosario of Ohio, one brother, Michael Rosario of New Haven, his paternal grandmother Maria Antonia Nunez of Cayey, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Belardino Rivera and Aida L. Llera. José's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 6th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Memorial Funeral Home, North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
