José Antonio Flores

José Antonio Flores, 55, of New Haven, CT died suddenly at his home on Friday, March 13, 2026. José was born in New York City on June 3, 1970, a son of Rosa E. Negrón of New Haven and the late Antonio Flores, and had resided in New Haven for the past twenty years. 

José was his mother's youngest child. He was family oriented and very reserved. He enjoyed being with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, José is survived by two sisters, Sonia M. (Felipe López) Román of New Haven and Delia Román of Caguas, Puerto Rico, six brothers, Joaquín (Noemi) López of Brockton, MA, Roberto Román of New Haven, Leonardo Román of New Jersey, Juan Carlos (Sonia) Román of Texas, Henry Román of Guarabo, Puerto Rico and Nelson Román of Caguas, Puerto Rico, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jose's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Star of Jacob Christian Church (Iglesia Cristiana Estrella de Jacob), 509 Howard Ave., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church during visitation time. A prayer service will take place at the church on Tuesday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Washington Ave., Hamden.
