Jorge Luís Nuñez, 77, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was the beloved husband of twenty years to Clara Pacheco Villamar. Jorge was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on February 21, 1948, a son of the late Pedro and Josefina (González) Nuñez. Jorge was a welder and carpenter by trade, and was superintendent for Briarwood Apartments in Branford for many years. He had a passion for fishing and spent most of his downtime enjoying nature.
In addition to his wife Clara, Jorge is survived by his two daughters Alicia of North Brunswick, NJ, Jessica M. Dixon and her husband Michael of Hamden, his son Jorge R. and his wife Carmen of Meriden, two brothers, Aurelio of Meriden and Rafael, four sisters, Lucy Ayala of Pennsylvania, Carmen Julia of Utuado, PR, Maria M. of New Brunswick, NJ, grandsons Reynaldo and James A. of North Brunswick, NJ and Noah of Hamden, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, José Antonio, Flor Trinidad and Rafael Trinidad.
Jorge's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 16th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place during visitation time. Burial will be private.
