John Eugene Siwinski, Jr.

John Eugene Siwinski, 82, of Prospect, CT, formerly of Hamden and North Haven died peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025 with his beloved family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty four years to Karen Scelzo Siwinski. John was born in North Haven on March 17, 1943, a son of the late John Eugene and Helen (Struzinski) Siwinski, Sr. He grew up in North Haven and resided in Hamden for forty eight years before moving to Prospect seven years ago. John worked for the City of New Haven, Dept. of Parks & Recreation for fifteen years, retiring in 2008. After retirement he worked for the Washington Memorial Funeral Home in various capacities for a number of years.  In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by a daughter, Wendy (Bill) Grieger of Bethany, a son, John Eugene (Theresa) Siwinski, III of Panama City, FL, and four grandchildren, Richard “RC” (Audrey) Roberts, Nicholas Siwinski, Madison Grieger and Evan Grieger. He was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Auscavitch and Elizabeth Boliver.
