John Peter Camerato

John Peter Camerato, 68, of Orange, CT died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Thursday, December 28, 2022. John was born in New Haven on April 6, 1954, a son of the late Joseph Anthony and Helen Starno Camerato, Sr. and had resided in Orange for the past thirty years. He was a groundskeeper for the Hamden Board of Education for seventeen years, retiring in 2022. John was a 1971 graduate of Hillhouse High School, and proudly served in the U.S Navy in the early 1970’s. He is survived by his daughter Katrina Camerato of Orange, a son, Anthony Camerato and his wife Mai Wong of Framingham, MA, one brother, Joseph Anthony Camerato, Jr. and his wife Carole of Northford, a niece, Cara Marie (Adoni) Lefkimiatis, three nephews, Joseph Anthony (Daniella) Camerato, III, and James and Adam Camerato, and five great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Donald Camerato. John’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 8th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
