Joanne (Storo) Velardi

We are sad to announce the passing of Joanne Storo Velardi of North Haven on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She died at age 85 surrounded by loved ones as she fought her battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 68 years Frank M. Velardi. Joanne was born in New Haven, CT on September 12, 1938,  a daughter of the late Dominic and Frances Longobardi Storo. She is also survived by her daughter Marianne (Steve) Baugh of Jacksonville, FL, one sister, Marjorie (Michael) Griffith of East Haven, one brother, Michael (Patricia) Storo of Pinellas Park, FL and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Frankie Velardi. Joanne was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. Her smile was contagious, and she could light up a room when she entered. Joanne was an amazing cook, and loved doing crafts. She will be missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9th at 12:00 p.m. in St. Barnabas Church (St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish), 44 Washington Ave., North Haven.
