Jo-Ann Letize-White Obituary

Jo-Ann Aida Letize White, 78, of Wallingford, died peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Mid-State Medical Center, Meriden. Jo-Ann was born in New Haven on May 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Joseph and Aida Bellucci Letize. She had resided in Wallingford for thirty years, previously living in Hamden. Jo-Ann was a Bail Bond Commissioner for many years for the State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch, and taught CCD religious classes at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for many years. In her younger years, she was a hair stylist at the former Olga Beauty Salon. Jo-Ann was an avid animal lover, loved gardening, reading all types of literature, listening to country music, and especially enjoyed engaging in challenging political issues. Jo-Ann's family wishes to thank the entire Midstate Medical Center staff who diligently watched over Jo-Ann the entire time that she had taken ill. They would also wish to extend their deepest gratitude and admiration to the entire Midstate Hospice Care staff who were so compassionate and dedicated to Jo-Ann, ensuring that she was kept comfortable and safe. She is survived by her adored granddaughter, Jenna Marie Parillo of Wallingford, two sisters, Lorraine (Louis) Palumbo and Margaret “Peggy” Limosani of Hamden, her beloved cousin, Elaine (William) Silengo of North Haven, her treasured nieces and nephews, Patricia (Glen) Mathews, Mark (Angela) Palumbo and Paul Tosetti of Hamden, Louis (Bernadette) Palumbo of Branford, Richard (Janet) Funaro of North Haven, Robert (Yvonne) Tosetti of West Haven, Gene (Lydia) Tosetti of Cheshire, Michael (Nancy) Funaro of Middletown, her devoted and special friend Hannah Jawor of Wallingford, her forever friend, Maian Foti of East Haven, and her dear friend, John Donnelly of Branford. She is also survived by her loving four legged companion, Beau. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph Parillo, her loving longtime companion, Anthony L. Colavolpe, and loving sister, Armida E. Funaro. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Paul VI Parish), 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden.
