Jaime Salgado

Jaime Salgado, 86 of New Haven died peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys Zuniga. Jaime was born in Santa Province in the region of Ancash, Peru on January 5, 1934, a son of the late Roberto Salgado and Victoria Mendoza. He lived for most of his life in Lima, Peru, and had resided in New Haven for the past four years. Jaime was a mechanical engineer for the Central Reserve Bank in Lima, Peru for thirty five years, retiring in 1991. He is survived by two daughters, Monica Salgado and her husband Alfredo Gaytan and Gladys Conner and her husband Richard Conner, both of Hamden, two sons, Jaime Martin Salgado and his wife Carolina Galliani of New Haven, and Eduardo Salgado of Piscataway, NJ, one sister, Maruja Salgado of Australia, and eight grandchildren. Jaime’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
