Israel Bonilla, Jr., 62, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of forty years to Euridice Pérez. Israel was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on February 16, 1962, a son of Paula Roche of Santa Isabel, PR and the late Israel Bonilla, Sr., and had resided in New Haven for the past forty years. He worked for several years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and also worked at the former Lender's Bagels of West Haven for more than five years.
In addition to his wife Euridice, Israel is survived by a daughter, Tibisay Bonilla of New Haven, two sons, Israel (Analia) Bonilla of New Haven and Gabriel (Natasha) Bonilla of Concord, NC, five sisters, Carmen de Jesús, Maria Roche, Lucy Bonilla and Doris (Luís) Rodríguez of New Haven and Nancy (Andy Rivera) Bonilla of Ceda, PR, two brothers, Richard (Sylvia) Bonilla of Florida and Luís Bonilla of Santa Isabel, PR, seven grandchildren Ariana Bonilla, Jovany Bonilla and Anthony Bonilla, Leandre Crandell, III, Genesis López Ortíz, Giselle López Ortíz and Gabriella López Ortíz, with an eighth grandchild soon to be, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Hector Bonilla.
Israel's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at noon time. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
