Irving Rodríguez, 63, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of twenty years to Maricel Santiago Rodríguez. Irving was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 2, 1960, a son of Nira Padilla Roman of New Haven and the late Santiago Rodríguez and was a lifelong New Haven resident. Irving loved music and was a professional musician, serving as a bass player with several area Latin music bands. In addition to his wife and mother, Irving is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Rodríguez of the Bronx, NY, four step-daughters, Angelica Váldez of Middletown, Jahayra Colón of High Point, NC, Myra Colón of East Haven and Melina (Oscar) Curbelo of West Haven, one sister, Evelyn Rodríguez of New Haven, one granddaughter, Evany Ali of the Bronx, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his step-father Candido Roman. Irving's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 17th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Star of Jacob Christian Church (Iglesia Cristiana Estrella de Jacob), 506 Howard Ave., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Thursday, January 18th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
