Ingrid Kos passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024 after a brave battle with cancer at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Ingrid had a unique personality that was based on her honest feelings, which took some getting used to upon first meeting her. Once you got to know her, one uncovered an extremely well read individual that had a deep love for all furry creatures both big and small, especially her cats. Ingrid had a fun personality, relaxed attitude and enjoyed her life to the fullest, be it by the pool, beach or just reading a book in her backyard. Ingrid was born in Sweden on July 9, 1942 and moved to San Francisco, CA when she was 18 years old to be an Au Pair. It was there that she met her husband of 59 years, David. Ingrid and David moved to Chicago, IL and then Evanston, IL while raising their son, David (AKA SD). They finally settled in New Haven, CT in 1982. Ingrid is survived by her husband David W. Kos of New Haven, CT, son David A. Kos and his wife Maureen Kos, grandson, Andrew Kos all of North Haven, CT and granddaughter, Jane Kos of Wallingford, CT. Ingrid is also survived by her sister Kristina Soderholm of Sweden. The Kos family would like to thank all of Ingrid’s family and friends that have reached out upon her passing. Your love and support is much appreciated, and Ingrid’s memory will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services for Ingrid were private and entrusted to the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
