Ignacio Ortíz

Ignacio Ortíz, 56 of New Haven died peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Midstate Medical Center, Meiden. Ignacio was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on February 3, 1964, a son of the late Lucas Ortíz and the late Maria Santiago, and had resided in New Haven for the past thirty seven years. He is survived by three sisters, Aurea (Virginio) Rosario and Aida (John) Connolly of Ocala, FL, and Milagros Ortíz of Meriden, seven brothers, Juan Jesus (Elvira Rivera) Ortíz and Angel Luís (Marisol Colón) Ortíz of Dorado, PR, Hector (Vidalina Correa) Ortiz of Tampa, FL, and Elpidio, Carlos, Fernando and Juan Ramón Ortíz of New Haven. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his niece Maria Sosa of New Haven who was his loving caregiver. He was predeceased by four brothers, Antonio, Ismael, Rafael and William Ortíz. Ignacio's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
