Ignacia Teniza Cuando, 54 of New Haven, formerly of Santa Apolonia Teacalco, Mexico died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospitla, St. Raphael Hospital with her loving family by her side. Ignacia was born in Santa Apolonia Teacalco, in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico on July 30, 1966, a daughter of Teresa Cuando Zarate of Santa Apolonia Teacalco and the late Laoreano Teniza Luna. She had lived there for much of her life, and had resided in New Haven for the past seventeen years. Ignacia is survived by one daughter, Liliana Cortez of New Haven, one son, Ismael (Teuhisil Castillo) Cortez of Santo Tomas la Concordia, Mexico, three sisters, Sara Teniza Cuando, Laura (Miguel Rivas) Teniza Cuano and Avelina (Eric Flores) Teniza Cuando, all of Mexico, four brothers, Joaquin and Hipólito Teniza Cuando of Mexico, and Clemente (Teresa Torres) Teniza Cuando and Felix (Jacqueline Martinez) Teniza Cuando of New Haven, two grandchildren, Shadai and Sayuri Cortez, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ignacia's family will receive realtives and friends on Saturday, December 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
