Gilberto Cardona

Gilberto Cardona, 60 of New Haven died peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Jacqueline Guevars Cardona. Gilberto was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on May 27, 1960, a son of the late Juan D. Cardona and Antonia López. He had resided in New Haven for nearly his entire life. Gilberto was a pool installation contractor for Amkote of Guilford for over twenty five years. He is also survived by two daughters, Iliana Cardona and her fiancé Clovis Simons and Dalila Cardona and her significant other Jack Burns of Windsor, CT, a step-daughter, Jacmarileis Dones of New Haven, three step-sons, Roberto, Jean and Robinson Dones of New Haven, three sisters, Frances (Ralph) Ramos and Inez (Elisamuel) Sierra of Orlando, FL and Evelyn Cardona of Houston, TX, a step-granddaughter, Sophia Rodríguez of New Haven, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Selena Cardona.  Gilberto's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
