Gilbert Seguí Apuzzo, Jr., 64, of Meriden, formerly of New Haven died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Julie Méndez Apuzzo. Gilbert was born in New Haven on January 10, 1958, a son of the late Gilbert Seguí Juarbe and the late Carmenl Apuzzo. He had resided in New Haven for most of his life before moving to Meriden fourteen years ago. Gilbert worked in the automotive field for many years, and most recently was a service writer for Executive Dodge of Meriden, retiring in 2012 due to his health. He proudly served his country with the U.S. NAVY. In addition to his wife Julie, Gilbert is survived by a daughter, Kyisha (John) Barr of Delaware, OH, four sons, Ronald (Nancy) Méndez of Willimantic, Gilbert Seguí Apuzzo, III and his fiancé Rebecca Garner of Watertown, Joshua Apuzzo and his fiancé Julia Fernández of Windsor and Timothy Jason Apuzzo of New York City, six sisters, Charlene Apuzzo, Nitza Seguí, Patty Schulz, Anna Rivera, Annette Vollano and Marie Seguí, one brother, Daniel Morales, sixteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Josephine Cox, Eva Cretella and Frances McNamara, and two brothers, Carlos and Wilfredo Seguí. Gilbert's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
