Francis Howard “Sonny” Miller, 85, of Hamden, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side on Thursday, August 24 2023. He was the beloved husband of sixty four years to Loretta DeCrescenzo Miller. Sonny was born in New Haven, CT on February 20, 1938, a son of the late Francis and Loretta Patton Miller and had resided in Hamden for most of his life. He was a brick layer for BAC Local 1 CT for thirty two years, retiring in 1993. He was an avid golfer, and golfed for many years at Laurel View Country Club, Hamden. In addition to his wife Loretta, Sonny is survived by two sons, Christian F. (Denise) Miller of Hamden and Scott J. (Renee) Miller of Wallingford, one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Bisighini of North Haven, two grandchildren, Tyler and Marissa of Wallingford, a sister-in-law, Gwen Miller of Southington, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Biondi and Joanne Calello, and two brothers, Robert and James Miller. Sonny’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
