Florice Romona (Wynn) Flowers

Florice Romona (Wynn) Flowers, 93, of Hamden, CT died peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lee Flowers. Florice was born in Dudley, North Carolina on May 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Israel Henderson and Frances Ann (Henderson) Wynn. She had resided in New Haven for most of her life, and in Hamden for nine years, including the past four years. Florice was a private duty nurse’s aid for many years, and also worked at the former Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven. She is survived by two daughters, Otelia Romona Darden of West Haven and Annette Yvonne Flowers of Goldsboro, NC, twelve grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her son Lynwood Earl Flowers, her son-in-law Bernard Darden, two sisters Geneva Foster and Otelia Newsome, seven brothers, John Frank Wynn, H.B. Wynn, Tino, Douglas, Roosevelt, , Lawrence and Eddie Wynn, and her great-granddaughter Bri Snowden.

Florice’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Funeral and burial will take place in Dudley, NC. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
