Everett M. Keyes, 99, of Hamden died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Funaro Keyes. Everett was born in West Haven, CT on December 7, 1923, a son of the late Everett M. and Martha Lendroth Keyes, Sr., and had resided in Hamden for the past seventy three years. He worked for Westinghouse and later Otis Elevator for many years as an elevator mechanic at Yale University, Grace-New Haven and Yale-New Haven Hospitals, retiring in 1984. Everett was a proud WWII U.S Army Veteran. He is survived by his daughter Judith (William) Gibson, and a son, Robert (Lydia) Everett of Hamden, five grandchildren, Matthew Gibson, Michael (Jill) Gibson, Catherine Gibson, Susan (John) Zadrozny and Carolyn Gibson, nine great-grandchildren and fifteen great- great-grandchildren, He was predeceased by his granddaughter Mary Ellen Riccio, his great-grandson Joseph Gibson, and two sisters, Eleanor Stopkoski and Muriel Marinara. Everett’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 1st from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m.; the Rev. Scott Morrow officiating.
