It is with great sadness that the family of Erich D. Russbach announce his passing on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus. Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away with his family by his side. Erich was born in Stamford on December 18, 1971, a son of Helen Stathopoulos Russbach of Hamden and the late Daniel Russbach. He had resided in Woodbridge for most of his life before moving to Hamden last year. He was a 1990 graduate of Amity High School, and attended Southern Connecticut State University. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and kind compassionate spirit that will live on forever. He was a devout Christian, whose faith was practiced daily, and shared with all that he knew. Erich loved the outdoors whether it be a walk or a picnic, but he especially loved the beach. Erich is also survived by three sisters, Mary S. Russbach of Hamden, Marlene (Andrew) Esposito of Northford and Kristina (Nick) Bakes of Stamford, four nieces, Ariana, Alena and Alexa Esposito and Ava Bakes. He is also survived by his life partner Rosania da Silva Araujo. Erich’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 11th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd., Orange. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 at the church. Burial will follow in Orange Center Cemetery.
