Emma Iris Ortíz

Emma Iris Ortíz Robles, 62, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Saturday, March 9, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Emma was born in Chicago, IL on June 8, 1961, a daughter of Luís Ortíz González and Ramona Robles of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and had resided in New Haven for the past thirty five years. She was a meat cutter and clerk at Ferraro's Market, New Haven for more than ten years, and most recently was a secretary at Monica A. Slack-Haynes, DDS, New Haven for the past ten years. Emma is also survived her daughter Claribel (Pablo Rivera) Espino of Ansonia and her son Oscar (Emily) Lorenzana of New Haven, three sisters, Aricelis and Jessica Ortíz and Abneris Bruno, all of Vega Baja, three brothers, José Luís (Militza) Ortíz of New Haven and James (Jessica) Ortíz and Edwin Castro of Vega Baja, five grandchildren, Ariana and Dariana Pallasco, Angel Fuentes, Annamarie Lorenzana and Hector Espino, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Emma's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
