Obituary

Edward Serrano, 52, of East Haven died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Edward was born in New Haven, CT on July 9, 1970, a son of Hilda Suarez of East Haven and the late Santos Serrano, and had lived in East Haven for the past thirty years. He was a certified nurse's aid at Whitney Manor, Hamden for the past thirty years. In addition to his mother, Edward is survived by three sisters, Nancy (Johnny Berrios) Serrano and Maria Suarez of New Haven and Carmen (Vasco) Ferreira of North Branford, one brother, Miguel Serrano of East Haven, his goddaughter Rebecca (Curtis) Johnson of Waterbury, godson Christian Torres of New Haven, one granddaughter, Lilianie Johnson of Waterbury, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Edward's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m., the Rev. Abraham Hernández officiating. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
