Edward Morrell, Sr. Obituary

Edward J. Morrell, Sr., 90, of North Haven died peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022. He was the beloved husband of sixty seven years to Joyce Morrissey Morrell. His proudest moment was when he won the Senior Basketball Olympics with his teammates in the Sunshine State. Ed was also an avid New York Yankees fan, and could argue the game of baseball with the best of them. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Productive Order of Elks. In addition to his wife Joyce, Ed is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Morrell Hoffman and her husband Jerry of North Haven, two sons, Edward J. Morrell, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Guilford and Timothy Morrell of North Haven, six grandchildren, Brian Morrell, Hailey Morrell and Timothy Morrell, Jr., Kristen Hoffman Mellaci and her husband Joseph, Justin Hoffman and Jesse Hoffman and his wife Stephanie, and a great-granddaughter Lucy Joyce Mellaci. He was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Morrell Keefover, four sisters, Edna Heery, Ethel Heath, Shirley Klemenz and Rita McBride, and five brothers, Joseph, John, Walter, Irving and George Morrell.
