Eduviges Vega Rosario

Eduviges Vega Rosario, 86, of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Marcelino Guevara Madera. Eduviges was born in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico on October 17, 1938, a daughter of the late Manuel Vega and the late Maria de la Cruz Rosario and had resided in Puerto Rico for most of her life before moving to New Haven in 2006. 

She is also survived by two daughters, Lizzette Guevara of Irvington, NJ and Jacqueline Guevara of New Haven, three sons, Marcelino (Iris Beltran) Guevara of Florida, Daniel (Mariluz Santiago) Guevara of Carolina, PR and José Enrique Guevara of Hartford, one brother, Victor Vega of Ocala, FL, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her son Luís Angel Guevara, son-in-law Gilberto Cadona and six brothers and sisters.

Eduviges' family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
