Edgardo N. Carmona

Edgardo "Edgar" N. Carmona, 73 of West Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of fifty three years to Edna Velázquez Carmona. Edgar was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on May 2, 1947, a son of the late Pedro Carmona and the late Julia Rodríguez. He moved from Bayamon to Brooklyn, NY in 1963 and resided there for twenty nine years before moving to New Haven in 1992 where he lived for five years before moving to West Haven twenty three years ago. Edgar was a driver for Ray's Auto Parts of New Haven for several years. In addition to his wife Edna, Edgar is survived by two daughters, Sandra Carmona of West Haven and Jennifer Santiago of Brooklyn, a son, Edgardo M. (Kimberly) Carmona of West Haven, one sister, Wanda (Alfonso) Vargas of New Haven, five brothers, Pedro (Olga) Carmona of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Odilon (Mercedes) Carmona of Margate, FL, José Oscar (Jacqueline) Pérez of Conyers, GA, Cesar David Pérez of Shelton, and Orlando (Milagros) Pérez of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, two grandchildren, Edgardo M. Carmona, Jr. of West Haven and Krystle Lee Ramos of Bridgeport, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister America Carmona. Edgar's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 8th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
