Eddie Ortíz

Eddie Ortíz, 59, of New Haven, CT died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Carmen Rivera. Eddie was born in Elizabeth, NJ on June 28, 1963, a son of the late Heriberto Ortíz and the late Nilda Torres, and had resided in Bridgeport, CT for ten years, before moving to New Haven thirty years ago. He worked for the former Marlin Firearms Co. of North Haven for ten years and retired from FedEx where he had worked for twenty years. He is also survived by a son, Eddie Ortíz, Jr. of New Haven, a daughter, Diana Irizarry of East Haven, one sister, Nilda (Eddie) Pagán, one brother, Luís Ortíz, both of Providence, RI, ten grandchildren, and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eddie's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 27th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
