Doris L. (Millard) Lewis

Doris L. Millard Lewis, 93 of Northford died peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Rex O. Lewis. Doris was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Fred and Emma Rose Millard, and had resided in Northford since 1967. She was a member of the Sleeping Giant Ladies’ Golf Club, and loved tag sales, bridge and bowling. She is survived by four daughters, Chery (Douglas) Anderson of New Hope, PA, Beverly (Bud) Bassoli and Cathy (David) Abbott of Wallingford, and Lynette (Paul) Haaf of North Haven, six grandchildren, Stephen and Kyle Bassoli, David Abbott, Jr., Brittni Anderson Li, and Taylor and Wesley Haaf, eight great-grandchildren, Ivy, Evan, Rheya, Jack, Adam, Luke, Cole and Aiden, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters, including her twin sister Lois Knowles. A private graveside service for Doris was held on Tuesday, July 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Northford Cemetery.
