Domingo Luís Torres, IV, 44, of West Haven, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died suddenly on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus. Domingo was born in New Haven on July 13, 1980, a son of Domingo Luís Torres, III of New Haven and the late Carmen Pérez, and had resided in New Haven his entire life before moving to West Haven a year ago.
Domingo was a working family man that raised his sons as best he could, and always put others before himself. He was innovative and creative in his own way, and loved to tinker with lots of things. He was a lover of animals, especially dogs. Everyone considered him a "dog whisperer" because of the number of dogs he's had throughout his life. His sisters described him best with one word each, which were: caring, loving, family man, benevolent, resilient, goofy and exceptional.
In addition to his father, Domingo is also survived by his grandmother who raised him and whom he referred to as "Mom", Lydia González of New Haven, three sons, Domingo Torres, V of Texas, Edward Torres of West Haven and Angel Izquierdo of New Haven, seven sisters, Wanda and Vanessa Torres of New Haven, Maritza (Tom) DeLucia and Tina Torres of Hamden, Crystal Torres of New Britain, and Carmenmarie and Stephanie Torres of Maine, two brothers, Prez Pérez of Hamden and Antonio Torres of New Haven, five grandchildren, and an army of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Domingo's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., the Rev. Isaias Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
