Domingo Santiago, 64, of North Haven, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria de Lourdes Cotto. Domingo was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on December 20, 1959, a son of the late Domingo and Rosalina Santiago Estremera and had resided in New Haven for most of his life before moving to North Haven five years ago. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Brewery St., New Haven for twenty three years, retiring in July of 2020, and at the same time worked for the City of New Haven, Board of Education as a security guard for twenty five years, retiring in September of 2020. Domingo was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Yaribel Cumba-Cotto and her husband Andy Pérez of North Haven and Yaritza Hernández Hernández and her husband Emanuel Cruz of New Haven, two sons, Billy Rivas Cotto and his wife Jacqueline Soto and Roddy Rivas Cotto and his wife Jennette Camacho of East Haven, four sisters, Judith Santiago, Ana Sein-Santiago (Wilson Sein), Magda Báez-Santiago (Edwin Báez) and Carmen Santiago of New Haven, six brothers, Enio Santiago (Migdalia Santiago), Benjamin Santiago (Marisel Santiago) and Melvin Santiago of New Haven, Fernando Santiago of Norristown, PA, Geraldo Santiago (Minerva Santiago) of Deltona, FL and Abimael Santiago (Ysabel Santiago) of Boca Raton, FL, eight grandchildren, Danyalis T. Pérez Cumba, Yoesian Z., Yhalia R. and Jabilier L. Rivas, and Yandel E., Yadiel R., Yael A. and Yaritzelis D. Pacheco Hernández, thirty nine nieces and nephews, sixty six great-nieces and great-nephews, and many loving cousins and friends. He was predeceased by one sister, Gladys Santiago and two brothers, Julio and Eduardo Santiago.
Domingo’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 10th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
