Dayalal Mehta Obituary

Dayalal Mehta, 91, of Bethany passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his home. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to the late Saroj Mehta. Dayalal Mehta was born in Mankuva, India on June 19, 1930, son of the late Velji and Maniben Mehta. He is the father of Prashant Mehta and father-in-law of Varsha P. Mehta of Bethany, and grandfather of Akash, Akshay and Shraiya. He is also survived by two sisters, Damayanti (Rajnikant) Doshi of Milford and Kusum (Narendra) Mehta of Bombay, India, three brothers, Pravinchandra Mehta and Ishwar (Smita) Mehta of Milford, and Khushal (Renuka) Mehta of Raleigh, NC., and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by a sister, Vanita Mehta, and three brothers, Shivlal, Umangilal and Kaniyalal Mehta. Dayalal had been a resident of Connecticut for more than 50 years, and was an active member of his community.  He was a computer programmer for Pitney Bowes, Stamford for 15 years, retiring in 1999. Dayalal was known to have the biggest heart, and always kept his home open to family and friends. He supported anyone that needed it in so many ways, and created a huge family here in Connecticut. He will be missed by the entire Mehta, Gandhi, Doshi family, and all his friends. Dayalal’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.  www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
