David John Immer, a gentle, intelligent, musical soul, was known to friends and family as Dave. Dave was born August 19th, 1946 in Portland Oregon. He passed peacefully on Friday, May 14th, 2021 surrounded by his family in coastal Branford, CT. Dave lived a life as a professional musician and audio engineer. He settled in Fairfield, CT with his wife and three kids, where he established his own ISDN bridging company, Digifon, becoming a leading expert in the field. He later built his own recording studio "Walnut Studio", where he worked with many musicians, voice-over artists, and actors. Dave's family say that he filled every space he was in with music and joy. Dave had a knack for bringing folks together through masterfully playing the piano for hours on end at sing-a-longs that his friends and family will cherish forever. Dave is survived by his wife Marylisa "Lee" Simpson, his three children Reed, Gavin and Carina, his daughter-in-law Posey, his sister Susan, and his brother Steve. Due to COVID precautions, the family will be celebrating his life privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that you instead push yourself to live a life of authenticity that is full of music and radical self expression. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
