Daniel "Danny" Velázquez, 42 of New Haven died suddenly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Friday, April 16, 2021 from injuries sustained earlier that evening from a motor vehicle accident. He was the beloved husband of Tasia Cox Velázquez. Danny was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on March 23, 1979, a son of Hermenegildo Velázquez of Loiza, Puerto Rico and Margarita Quiñones of New Haven, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. He was a truck driver for Red Bull of Wallingford, and was the founder and president of Revolucion MC, New Haven. Danny is also survived by two daughters, Daneisha Lee Velázquez and Xiomara Marie Velázquez, three sons, Daniel Velázquez Jiménez, Giovanni Daniel Velázquez and Andre Daniel Velázquez, one sister, Barbara Velázquez, one niece, Leylanis Pabón and one nephew, Yadiel Díaz, all of New Haven, and his paternal grandfather Roberto Velázquez of Loiza, PR. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. It was Danny's request that no one is to wear black at his funeral, and to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. Danny's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 26th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob (Radiant Star of Jacob Christian Church), 185 Chapel St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Tuesday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
