Concepción Acosta Miranda, 88, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. Concepción was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico on February 1, 1935, a daughter of the late Pedro Acosta Albina and the late Amelia Miranda Martínez, and had resided in New Haven for the past forty three years. She was a seamstress for the former Straus-Adler Co. of New Haven for thirty years, retiring in 1993. Concepción is survived by a daughter, Norin (Orlando) Rosa of New Haven, a son, German Elvin (Miriam Ortíz) Acosta of Sabana Grande, one sister, Aida Vidro Santiago of New Haven, three grandchildren, Miriam (Robert Kellar) Rodríguez of Edmond, OK, and Yajara Rosa and Jovan Rosa of New Haven, six great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Encarnación Acosta Miranda, a grand-daughter, Lorraine Rodríguez, and a great-granddaughter, Elani Ruíz. Funeral services for Concepción will take place in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico.
