Carmen Maria Santos Rivera

Carmen Maria Santos Rivera, 70, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at the Grimes Center on Friday, January 31, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Carmen was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on November 19, 1954, a daughter of the late Isidoro Santos and the late Nicomedes Rivera. She had resided in Ponce, Puerto Rico for most of her life before moving to New Haven twelve years ago. Carmen is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Juan Carlos) Rodríguez of York, PA and Marjorie (Roberto Ballester) Torres of Tamarac, FL, two sons, Edwin (Mariely Rodríguez) Torres and Jesús Torres of New Haven, four sisters, Lillian (Papo Rodríguez) Santos of New Haven, Marta Santos of Peñuelas, PR, Ana (Pedro Rivera) Santos of Ponce and Vivian Santos of Utica, NY, four brothers, Angel Bénitez, Edwin Santos and Gerardo (Isabel de Jesús) Santos of Ponce and Pedro José (Lorraine Báez) Santos of Union City, NJ, eleven grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Carmen Elena Rivera and her brother José Bénitez.

Carmen's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 3rd from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home during visitation time. Burial will be private. washingtonmemorialfh.com
