Carmen Josefina (Espada) Santini Espada

Carmen Josefina Santini Espada, 92, of New Haven died peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Carlos José Santini Meléndez. Carmen was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on October 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Segundo and Aquilina Espada, and had resided in New Haven for more than fifty years. She is survived by three daughters, Carmen (Javier) Ortíz and Maria Santini of New Haven and Aurelia (Luis) López of Coamo, three sons, José Antonio (Carmen) Santini of Coamo and José Alberto Santini and José Manuel (Gladys) Santini of New Haven, four brothers, Carlos (Haydee) Espada and Sixto Espada of Coamo, and Modesto (Donna) Espada and Ramón (Brenda) Espada of New Haven, twenty two grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two sons, José Rafael Santini and Francisco Santini, two sisters, Carmen and Irma Espada, and four brothers, Benito, Angel, Matilde and Luís A. Espada. Carmen's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
