Carmen Alicia Colón Morales, 65, of New Haven, Connecticut, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 30, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Carmen was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on November 9, 1960, a daughter of the late Augustín Colón and the late Lucia Morales, and had resided in New Haven for the past thirty two years.
Carmen was a cheerful woman, a believer in God, and of unbreakable faith. A warrior woman, who did not give up in the face of adversity. She was an exemplary mother, and an excellent grandmother. She will forever be remembered, and will always remain in the hearts of her loving family. May she rest in the arms of our Lord.
Carmen is survived by two daughters, Glendys Franco and her husband Joseph A. Arminio of East Haven and Marie Enid Franco of Philadelphia, PA, three grandchildren, Joseph A. Arminio, Jr. and Mason A. Arminio of East Haven and Jazlenid Gaitan of Philadelphia, five sisters, Lupilda Colón Ortíz and Alvilda Colón Ortíz, Maria Colón Morales, Gloria Colón Morales and Lerzy Magaly Colón, and three brothers, Jesús Colón, Adalberto Colón Morales and Wilfredo Colón Morales, all of Coamo, Puerto Rico, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by three sisters, Guillermina Colón Ortíz, Hilda Colón Ortíz and Isabel Colón Ortíz.
Carmen's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
Carmen Alicia Colón Morales, de 65 años, de New Haven, Connecticut, falleció pacificamente en su hogar el sabado el 30 de mayo de 2026 con su amorosa familia a su lado. Carmen nació en Coamo, Puerto Rico, el 9 de noviembre de 1960, hija del fallecido Augustín Colón y de la fallecida Lucia Morales, y había residido en New Haven durante los últimos treinta y dos años.
Carmen era una mujer alegre, creyente en Dios y de fe inquebrantable. Una mujer guerrera, que no rendía ante la adversidad. Era una madre ejemplar y una abuela excelente. Será recordada por siempre y siempre permanecerá en los corazones de su amorosa familia. Que descanse en los brazos del Señor.
Carmen deja como sobrevivientes a dos hijas, Glendys Franco y su esposo Joseph A. Arminio de East Haven y Marie Enid Franco de Philadelphia, PA, tres nietos, Joseph A. Arminio y Mason A. Arminio de East Haven y Jazlenid Gaitan de Philadelphia, cinco hermanas, Lupilda Colón Ortíz, Alvilda Colón Ortíz, Maria Colón Morales, Gloria Colón Morales y Lerzy Magaly Colón, y tres hermanos, Jesús Colón, Adalaberto Colón y Wilfredo Morales, todos de Coamo, Puerto Rico, y muchos sobrinos, sobrinas, primos y amigos queridos. Fue precedida en la muerte por tres hermanas, Guillermina Colón Ortíz, Hilda Colón Ortíz y Isabel Colón Ortíz.
La familia de Carmen recibirá a familiares y amigos el jueves 4 de junio de 5:00 a 8:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Washington Memorial, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
