Carlos Manuel Báez-de Aza, 42, of New Haven, CT died suddenly on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Carlos was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on June 2, 1980, a son of Antonia de Aza Infante of Barcelona, Spain and the late Liberata Báez. He resided in Santo Domingo for most of his life before moving to New Haven in 2006. Carlos was a self-employed carpenter for seven years retiring in 2022 due to health issues. He is also survived by his fiancé Claritsa Nieves of New Haven, two daughters, Omayra Báez of New Haven and Emma Báez of New York City, two sons, Eziquiel and Omar Báez of Santo Domingo, his unborn twins Omaroy and Jomayra Báez, two sisters Kenyi de Olio de Aza and her husband Carlos and Evelyn de Olio de Aza and her husband Oriol Martínez of Barcelona, four brothers, Teudy de Olio de Aza and his wife Patrizia, Eziquiel de Aza and his wife Clabel Peña and Yeo de Olio de Aza and his wife Lia Rosas of Barcelona, and Ramón de Aza of Santo Domingo. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carlos' family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 3rd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven. www.washingtonmemoralfh.com
