Bernardo Dario Vargas, 101, of New Haven, CT died peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Adriana Lora de Vargas. Bernado was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on August 20, 1923, a son of the late Daniel and Carmen Mercedes (Subervi) Vargas and had resided in Santo Domingo for most of his life before moving to New Haven seven years ago. He was a retired real estate agent. Bernardo is survived by two daughters, Carmen (Gerardo Amador) Vargas of Harrisburg, PA and Monica (Kashif Inayat) Vargas of New Haven, four sons, Omar (Kimary Kulig) Vargas of New York City, Bernardo Vargas of Chicago, IL, Daniel Vargas of New Haven and Dario José (Flor Pimentel) Vargas of Meriden, four sisters, six brothers, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Bernardo's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, February 23rd from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. washingtonmemorialfh.com
