Armando Viera, Jr., 39, of New Haven, CT lovingly known as Macho died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Macho was born in New Haven on February 5, 1986, a son of Armando Viera, Sr. and Elsa Santiago of New Haven and was a lifelong city resident.
He was a genuine, kind and respectful man, and a devoted hard worker. Macho was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he deeply loved and cherished his family, whom he held close to his heart. He was a man of strong character and great generosity. With his vibrant personality and warm spirit, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
His associates at N.K.E. Restoration, LLC of Hartford described Macho as more than just a co-worker, but a leader, a teacher and a friend. In his vocation, Macho dedicated himself to helping families and communities recover from some of life's most difficult moments, working in the restoration field on homes damaged by water, mold and fire. As a lead technician, Macho wasn't afraid to step in, get his hands dirty, and make sure the job was done right. He set up equipment, cleaned, sanitized affected areas, and guided others through the process with patience and strength. Whether working with N.K.E. Restoration, or as a sub for Advanced Disaster Recovery, Macho carried himself with responsibility and pride.
What made Macho truly special was the respect and care he showed. He treated every home as if it were his own, with professionalism, dignity, and attention to detail. Families trusted him because they could see his heart was in the work. Macho wasn't just restoring houses, he was helping people rebuild their lives.
Macho will be remembered not just for what he did, but for how he made people feel: supported, respected, and never alone in the hard work he performed. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication will live on in the many lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Macho is survived by his son Armando Viera, III, also known as A.J. of New Haven, two sisters, Yadira Vargas of New Haven and Amanda Viera of Hamden, one brother, Alexis Viera of New Haven, three nieces, Kiara Cepeda, Kyla McCotter and Nyla McCotter, three nephews Kyle León, Zyair Viera and Avian Viera, his great-niece Ariah Turner, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Santiago and Cruzita Viera and his maternal grandparents Casiano Santiago and Milagros Soler.
