Antonio Maurice Jones, 20, of New Haven passed away suddenly, and entered eternal life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of Sandra Mesquita of New Haven and Anthony Jones, Sr. of Jacksonville, NC., Antonio was a student at New Haven Adult Education with hopes to enroll in an autobody technical school after graduation. He was recently employed at Town Fair Tire. From an early age, he was introduced to, and loved motorcycles, cars and dirt bikes. He loved the bike life, and was an excellent rider. Antonio was a loving son, uncle, brother, cousin and friend to all. He had a heart of gold and was very giving. Besides his parents, he leaves treasure his funny and loving memories, his step-dad Rico Little, three brothers, Chief Warrant Officer 2, George Rodríguez of Honolulu, HI, Anthony Jones, Jr. and Maurice Jones of New Haven, five sisters, Aliya Caraway and her husband Devon Colin Colón, Sharlisa Jones, Sasha Jones, Ricaiyla Little and Laiyla Little, all of New Haven, his aunts, Griselle McFadden, Ita Brenes, Afrika Jones, Crissy Lombard and her husband Brian Lombard, and Kenya Cox, uncle Victor Mesquita and his wife Jeanna Mesquita, his beloved nieces, Ashliyah Vázquez and Alaiya Newton, his nephews Bryson Colón, Joseph Martínez, III, Foreign Tisdale, his cousins Tyler Mesquita, Nigeria Jones, Kayla Britto-Jones and Migdalia Marquéz. He was also the cherished grandson of Jacqueline Jones, and the great-grandson of John Henry Jones of Jacksonville, NC. He is also survived by his girlfriend Leah Torres, and dear family friend "Ze Ze". Antonio also leaves to mourn many close family friends who became family over the years, and will deeply miss "Bone" as much as the rest of his family. Antonio was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Custodio and Ilda Mesquita, his paternal great grandmother Wilma Rowlette, his sister Alessia Mesquita, his great aunt Phyllis Greene, and his cousins Victor Mesquita and Michael Bertier. Antonio was a wonderful young man, full of life, with an old soul. He lived life to the fullest. He was kind and loving. He adored his family, his nieces and his nephews. "Tio Tony" as they called him, will definitely be missed by all forever. Antonio's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob, 185 Chapel St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the chuch at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 769 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven.
