Anthony “Tony” Salvatore Serio, 96, of North Haven, CT, formerly of New Haven, CT died peacefully at the Landing of North Haven on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Tony was born in New Haven on March 5, 1928, a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Corso) Serio. He grew up on Wooster Square, and resided in the Fair Haven section of New Haven for most of his life before moving to North Haven five years ago. Tony was a ceramic tile setter for more than forty years, retiring in 1993, and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Serio, two sons, Michael and Gary Serio, seven grandchildren, and numerous cousins including Lucille Della Valle of South Carolina He was predeceased by two brothers Salvatore and Thomas Serio and his long time loving companion Jean MacKenzie.
Everyone is invited to go directly to Our Lady of Pompeii Church (St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish), 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven on Monday, December 30 for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
