Anna Marie (Poppolardo) Berretta

Anna Marie Cimino Berretta, 84, of North Haven died peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Mary Wade Home, New Haven with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of sixty five years to Nicholas Berretta. Anna Marie was born in New haven on January 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Poppolardo Cimino and had resided in North Haven for the past sixty two years. She was a hairdresser at Fantasy Hair Salon of New Haven for  twenty years, retiring in 2002. Anna & Nicholas also had a home in Englewood, Florida for forty years, and they loved to travel there. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she  truly loved being with them, cooking for them, and tending to their needs and wants. In addition to her husband, Anna Marie is survived by two daughters, Rosina (Louis) Donarumo of Cheshire and Lisa (Mark) Franco of Wallingford, one sister, Troffie Dauria and one brother, Anthony Cimino of New Haven and her six beloved grandchildren, Louie, Nicholas and Michael Donarumo and Mark, Paul and Maria Franco. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Paul VI Parish) 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Friday, December 23rd for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
