Anita Rose (Faiella) Manginelli, 100 of Cheshire, CT, formerly of Hamden, CT died peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Michael Manginelli. Anita was born in New Haven on December 2, 1925, a daughter of the late Domenic and Rose (Federico) Faiella.
Anita leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her passions brought joy to those around her-cooking and baking for family and friends, playing weekly card games, and creating knitted and crocheted gifts for loved ones. She also had the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe and the Caribbean, with Aruba being her favorite destination. Throughout her career as a customer service manager at Plymouth Electric and later at Lipper International, Anita dedicated herself with warmth and commitment.
Anita is survived by her daughter Joyce Karen Gherlone of Stuart, FL, two grandchildren, Allison (Brent) Mahieu of Port St. Lucie, FL and Matthew (Alison) Gherlone of Cheshire, and five great-grandchildren, Caelan, Braedan, Dylan, Jayson and Jack. She was predeceased by her step-father Christopher Ricciardi, her son-in-law, Peter John Gherlone, and her sister, Jessie Shields
Anita’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Hector Rangel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
